Attendance Policy for Sir Pizza of Siler City
Policy Brief & Purpose
Sir Pizza of Siler City values the punctuality and attendance of our employees, as regular attendance ensures high-quality service for our customers. As such, we have established the following attendance policy to ensure that all employees are aware of our expectations and to provide guidelines for managing absences and tardiness. The Policy does not apply to absences covered by the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or leave provided under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Policy Target Audience
This policy applies to all employees of Sir Pizza of Siler City.
General Guidelines

Employees are expected to arrive at the workplace on time and clock in, based on their schedule.

If an employee is unable to come to the workplace, they must notify the general manager no later than 24 hours before their scheduled start time.

Any unplanned absences or tardiness will be recorded and may be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Planned absences, such as vacations or medical appointments, should be approved or denied by the general manager within 7 days.

Requesting time off does not guarantee that you will receive that time off.

If an employee is unable to come to work due to illness, they must provide a doctor's note upon returning to work for it to be considered an excused absence.

This attendance policy may be revised or updated at any time at the discretion of management.
Additional Information
Absence
An excused absence occurs when the employee has:

Scheduled time off according to Company policy

Obtained approval from their supervisor before the start time
*Any employee with an excused absence of 3 consecutive workdays due to a medical condition must provide proof of doctor's care and a release from their doctor before returning to work.
An unexcused absence occurs when the employee fails to:

Report to the workplace at their scheduled start time

Notified the supervisor within the specified time period
No call/No show:
Definition: Failure to show up at start of scheduled shift without notifying the shift manager or general manager.
An employee who fails to report for 2 of their scheduled shifts within a year without communicating with the supervisor will be deemed to have abandoned a job. Their employment with the Company will be terminated immediately.
Early Arrival
Definition: Clocking in ahead of scheduled shift start time.
Employees are given a 10-minute grace period provided for early arrival. Employees are not to clock in more than 10-minutes ahead of their scheduled start time, unless approved by manager.
Late Arrival
Definition: Clocking in after scheduled shift start time
Employees arriving late should notify their manager as soon as they are aware that they will be late.
Early Departure
Definition: A failure on the part of an employee to complete their scheduled shift.
Employees who cannot complete the assigned duration of their shift must notify their supervisor prior to leaving.
Late Departure
Definition: A failure on the part of an employee to clock out on time.
Employees who are going to need to stay past their scheduled end of shift need to have approval from their supervisor.
Job Abandonment
Definition: Failure to show up for a shift without notification.
An employee who fails to report for 2 or more consecutive workdays without communicating with the supervisor will be deemed to have abandoned a job. Their employment with the Company will be terminated immediately.
Disciplinary Action
Absenteeism, early/late arrival and early/late departure occurrences will initially receive a verbal warning, followed by a written warning. Three or more occurrences per pay period will result in progressive disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Five or more occurrences within a 3-month period may also lead to progressive disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Ten occurrences within a year may also lead to progressive disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Potential Merit Increases/End of Year Bonuses may be affected by employee's ability to adhere to this attendance policy.
*Please note that documentation of occurrences and disciplinary action is up to the discretion of the Sir Pizza of Siler City Management Team.
