Policy Brief & Purpose
Sir Pizza of Siler City is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of its employees and the customers they serve. Alcohol abuse and drug use pose a significant threat to these goals. The purpose of this policy is to maintain an alcohol and drug-free environment.
Policy Target Audience
This policy applies to all employees of Sir Pizza of Siler City.
Prohibited Behaviors

Substance Abuse

Smoking of any kind, including vaping inside the restaurant and drinking or use of drugs of any kind anywhere on the premises.

Reporting to work under influence of alcohol or illegal drugs, or manufacturing, using, dispensing, purchasing, selling, possessing or distributing alcohol or illegal drugs on restaurant property.

Profanity & Inappropriate Language

Use of vulgar, abusive, or threatening language in the workplace or toward coworkers, guests, or management.

Harassment & Discrimination
-
Any form of harassment, bullying, or discrimination based on race, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected category.

Inappropriate or offensive jokes, comments, or gestures.

Theft & Dishonesty
-
Stealing money food, beverages, supplies or property belonging to the restaurant, coworkers, or guests.

Falsifying time records, sales, or any company documentation.

Violence & Unsafe Behavior
-
Fighting, physical intimidation, or threats of violence.
-
Reckless or unsafe actions that could endanger employees, guests, or property.

Cell Phone & Electronic Device Misuse

Using personal devices during work hours in guest areas or while performing duties.

Checking texts, calls or social media outside of approved break times.

Having phones on the floor instead of in designated storage areas (e.g., lockers, office, or personal bag).

Using headphones, earbuds, or Bluetooth devices during open hours.

Recording or photographing staff, guests, or company operations without permission.

Managers may only use phones for approved work purposes (e.g., scheduling, vendor calls, emergencies).

Neglect of Duties

Refusing to perform assigned work, ignoring instructions, or abandoning the workplace without manager approval.

Excessive lateness, absenteeism, or failure to follow scheduling requirements (see Attendance Policy).

Unprofessional Conduct

Arguing with guests or coworkers in front of others.

Gossiping, showing favoritism, or creating a hostile work environment.

Disciplinary Action
Employees partaking in any of the above prohibited behaviors shall be subject to discipline, up to and including termination. This may include a referral to local law enforcement, if appropriate.
